Ultra Compact 3-Week Toiletry Kit
Welcome Team Max, this is your Uncle Max here with another “Quick & Dirty,” “Done is Better Than Perfect” video. This time we're talking about a super-compact toiletry kit that I developed for my years in the military, and that I also used for travel. I happened to use an old military weapons cleaning kit case, and filled it with compact versions of what I needed, but that still had a lot of life to them, and could last me up to 3 weeks, depending on the circumstances. Some of the contents include:
Compact electric razor
Small brush for maintaining it
Compact non-electric back-up razor with 3 days of shaving cream
Styptic pencil for treating razor nicks and cuts
Toothbrush in a versatile protective case, w/ toothpaste tube stored in the handle
Compact 50 yards Tooth floss
3 options for tooth drops/ paste
Mini loofah for scrubbing body down, stored in a vinyl tube wrap to keep it contained
16 inches of “100 mile an hour” duct tape, for expedient repair of a tear or split in clothing, or other repairs
Mini soap & shampoo bottles which contain Dr. Bronner's Concentrated 18 in 1 multipurpose soap, that can be used as: shampoo, body wash, shave lotion, tooth drops, dish soap, laundry soap, etc.
Thai Deodorant Stone
Listerine “mouthwash” pocket strips
Large heavy-duty safety pin
Mini towel with built-in storage case and clip to hang it on the pack or around camp to dry
Optional full-size microfiber towel, with its own clip and mesh storage case, that can double as a small travel blanket
All this, and roughly the same size as a 20 oz water bottle. I'm considering adding a small unbreakable mirror, the size of a dog tag, that can also be used for emergency signaling, and also a micro sewing kit, the kind you would get from a stay at a hotel, for clothes mending, etc.
Because I have a soldier side, and also a hippie side, I noticed some environmentally friendly cleaning cloths, towels, and bed linens, that have unique properties to clean exceptionally well, but also not harbor or transfer bacteria, and other funky stuff, which would make them ideal for long-term emergency preparedness, should the grid go down, and we have little water for all of our cleaning and hygiene needs. Check back here for a link to a video about them, when I get it edited and posted.
Check back for the link for the healthier, concentrated, more economical, cleaning products, that are better for the environment, and how you can easily get a year's supply stored up for long term emergencies.
We also found some fantastic natural cleaning products that are MUCH safer, and more concentrated. Recent studies reported in the news have shown that regular cleaning products have negative health effects on people that use them, even shortening their lives. Stay tuned for a link to find out about these healthier options, and why they would be fantastic for “normal” living and concentrated, and easier to store & acquire for long term emergencies/disasters.
